A Lenten series on “The Christian Body” will be held on Sundays at First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, 519 Washington, Street at 11:30 a.m. in the church library/classroom. It will be held after the 10 a.m. Sunday Worship Service, starting Feb. 10. Spiritual practices involving the body will be explored by participants in a presentation and discussion about the intersection of daily activities and worship life. Eliza Buchakjian-Tweedy, the church’s student minister, will lead the sessions. She is a student at Harvard Divinity School.
At 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, church member Norman Smith will give a talk about owls and local birds. He is the director of the Trailside Museum in the Blue Hills Reservation. Come and learn more about the critters in your own backyard from an expert. Light refreshments will be served after this educational opportunity for adults and all school age children.
