Hanson's 11-year-old All Star team were giant killers this last week when they beat previously unbeaten Kingston in Suburban League action. Kingston has been the reigning state champion in their age group the past two years and placed second in New England each of the past two seasons
Hanson defeated Kingston 6-3 behind solid pitching from Drew Alexopoulos who pitched the first four innings allowing only one hit and one unearned run. Colin Arseneau and Nick Villanueva pitched the last two innings to secure the victory.
Hanson scored four runs in the fourth to take the lead for good. Ryan Jensen got things started with a walk, Alex Burbank followed with a single and Nick Kinsella walked to load the bases. Colin Josselyn singled to drive in two runs and Colin Arseneau followed with a single to score Kinsella. Bryan Prenderville then singled to score Josselyn and close out the scoring. Offensive stars were Cooper Leonard who was on base twice out of the leadoff position, Alex Burbank who had three hits, Nick Kinsella who walked twice and scored two runs, and Ryan Jensen who was on base twice and scored once.
