Sean M. Condon, 42, of Whitman, died Sunday May 11, unexpectedly.
The son of Jay D. and Meredith J. (Fullerton) Condon of Whitman, he was born in Brockton and raised in Whitman and attended Whitman schools. He played Little League and was in Cub Scouts. He was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson High School, where he participated on both track and soccer teams.
After high school, Sean enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. He served his country from October 1985 until he was honorably discharge in May 1993. He served in Desert Storm from August 1990 to March 1991. During his career in the service, he received: The Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Unit Commendation, Overseas Service Ribbon, Meritorious Mast, Good Conduct Medal, Sea Service Deployment Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, South Asia Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Pistol and Sharpshooter Badges. After serving his country, Sean traveled the United States doing various construction jobs until his injuries disabled him.
In addition to his parents, he leaves his brother, Gary J. Condon of Hanson; his sisters, Susan Daily of Whitman and Lisa M. Condon of South Boston; several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Glen D. Condon.
His services will be held Thursday, May 15 at 9:15 a.m. from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (RT 58 at the Rotary circle) Whitman, Mass., followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman.
