Katherine S. (Stanley) Clough, 91, formerly of Whitman died, Thursday May 1, in the West Acres Nursing Home, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Robert Clough.
Born in Palmyla, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Neil and Florence (Keene) Stanley. She attended Maine Central Institute.
Mrs. Clough moved to Whitman in 1946 and was a resident until six years ago. She worked as an assembler at the Regal Shoe and Commonwealth Shoe, both in Whitman, and before retiring she worked at the Foxboro Company in East Bridgewater for seven years.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Whitman, where she sang in the choir and attended bible studies there. She loved to do all types of crafts and enjoyed working on her 3-family home in Whitman.
She leaves her children, Rev. Dr. Robert A. Hanson and his wife Barbara of Plymouth, Sterling E. Hanson and his wife Roberta of Carver and Elizabeth Frasier and her husband Albert of Plymouth; also 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. She was also the sister of the late Herbert Stanley, Eleanor Cohen and Barbara McLean.
Her services will be held Thursday May 8 at 10 a.m. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery Whitman.
