William A. “Bill” Phillips, of Whitman, died suddenly on Thursday, April 24, 2008. He was the husband of Janet E. (Breen) Phillips and father to his beloved daughter Jillian.
He was an avid fisherman, duck hunter and skier.
In addition to his wife and daughter, he leaves his father, Abbott and his wife Andrea Phillips of Little Compton, R.I.; his mother, Ethel Phillips of Kingston; his sisters, Weatherly Bates and her husband Greg of Homer, Arkl, Lucy Eaton of Turks & Caicos; Noel Hallisey and her husband Steve of Aspen, Colo., Cathy Michlove and her husband Jim of Stonington, Conn., and Krieta Phillips of Waitsfield, Vt.; his mother-in-law, Andrea Lamb of Tequesta, Fla.; his sister-in-law, Kelly Carey and her husband Joe of Halifax and his brother-in-law, Mike Breen and his wife Kris of Wallington, Vt. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 2 at 10 a.m. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, May 1 from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Ducks Unlimited, One Waterfowl Way, Memphis, Tenn. 38120 or online at ducks.org or by calling 1-800-45-ducks.
