Craig and Mery Petrus are the parents of a son, Sebastian Petrus, born on February 9, 2008 at South Shore Hospital. He was welcomed home by his brother and sisters, Raul, Gabriela and Sofia.
Team Tama, a national karate competition team, sponsored by Sagamore Plumbing & Heating, Inc, competed at the Connecticut Shoreline Karate Champs tournament in Branford, Conn. on Sunday, April 20. Team members and awards won are as follows: Fighting Division: Steven Gamble and Olivia Iula (of Whitman) 1st Place, Sensei Elizabeth Grenier (of Weymouth) 2nd Place, Mario Mastro (of E. Bridgewater) and Ashley Melanson (of Whitman) 3rd Place.

Capt. Sean Dynan, USMC, a 1994 Whitman-Hanson Regional High School and 1998 United States Naval Academy graduate, serving as Company Commander 1/6, in Afghanistan, has been selected to be promoted to Major. Sean and his wife Dena live in Jacksonville, N.C. Capt. Dynan is the son of William and Laurene Dynan of 178 Forest Trail, Hanson.
Airman Ryan Landis has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The 2004 graduate of Whitman-Hanson Regional High School is the son of Richard and Donna Landis.
Amy J. Chandler was recently certified by the State of New York, the Long Island Board of Realtors, and RealNet Learning Services of McLean, Va, as a CBR-Certified Buyer Representative. Amy is a Realtor/office manager with Optimum Real Estate, Inc. and is now trained in the professional representation of home purchasers.
