The WHLAX U11 Black team continued their winning ways this week (2-0), by defeating a very strong Pembroke team at our home turf at the Indian Head field in Hanson. For the second straight week, net minding was the name of the game. Last week, it was Dan Kelly. This week, it was Ryan Kennedy in his debut performance, who turned away a barrage of shots by Pembroke, and kept the Panthers in the game all afternoon. He had plenty of support from defensemen, Bobby Caliri, Kyle Lydon, Cam Carpenter and Dylan Leighton, who brought the physical game from the opening face-off. The offensive fire power was spread around nicely, with goals coming from seven different Panthers. This list included Rob Doherty, Josh Penney, Nick Murphy, Brett Connors, Dan Kelly, Dylan Thomas, and Owen Lydon, who scored on an almost inconceivable coast-to-coast Statue of Liberty drive. Next week, the Panthers will be on the road, to face another tough opponent in Sandwich.
